Guatemala Huehuetenango Honey

$15.00

Certifications: Bird Friendly, Organic, Fair Trade

Cupping Notes: The coffee has a silky mouthfeel and the taste of milk chocolate and white grapes makes it delicious. It’s a gentle, sweet, chocolatey mug of coffee that is very drinkable. If you want to make espresso out of it, it’s worth going at least a few degrees darker.

Farming notes: The growing region of Huehuetenango (pronounced way-way-tenango) is on the border of Mexico. This one is from a co-op called FECCEG which has a presence across the whole country and helps farmers band together, gives them Fair Trade and Organic certifications, and also helps them get their coffee to the global market. They process a very small amount of Honey Processed (pulped-natural) coffee each year. It’s very hard to obtain. Honey-processed coffee out of Guatemala is not something you’re likely to find very often, but this one makes me wish it was a more common practice.

Recommended Roast: Light to medium-dark (hard to get it to dark because of its honey process)

Good For: Pour Over, Full Immersion, and Espresso.
